Bags I've Had
I have no idea how to include dressier options in a line of clothes intended to work well as a business casual vibe but this pic was included because dressing up shouldn't be some insane financial and logistical burden.
I tend to like small purses. It's not like I haven't had cloth, leather or woven basket-like bags that were effectively one half of a set of saddlebags. I certainly have. When you have small children, you can either carry a purse that looks like luggage or you can carry a reasonable purse plus baby-themed luggage called a diaper bag. Either way, there's luggage involved.
Even after they outgrow diapers, you can't leave the house and keep your sanity without tossing a few toys and snacks in your bag. But somehow at some point when my oldest was still a child, I just needed to carry an extra game cartridge for his portable game system and that fit in the tiny outer pocket of some tiny red leather wallet I had which I carried in some tiny black velvet purse clearly designed to be paired with evening wear and not intended as daily wear for a full-time mom.
My tiny red leather wallet was the closest thing to a money clip for girls I've ever seen. These days, most people don't carry cash. You need your phone, ID, a credit card and maybe some other plastic cards. Women need girly modern "money clips" if they want careers.
I've also had leather "wallet on a string" purses. They looked like those wide extra large wallets but with a long enough detachable strap to sling it over your shoulder.
Years ago, I stopped carrying a rescue inhaler which had no hope of fitting in a wallet on a string. Instead of a rescue inhaler, I stuck an extra dark chocolate candy bar in my wallet on a string.
No self respecting tomboy dressed like a girly girl leaves the house without a few tools. Yes, I had a screwdriver and tape measure in my wallet on a string. They were specially designed tiny tools accumulated prior to getting this purse.
I've also had a teal blue small leather purse with zippered opening and a single zippered inner pocket and shoulder strap. A number of my purses have been blue or red.
I like purses with adjustable or detachable straps. I like purses where it's possible to use the strap long as a shoulder bag or doubled over.
Because of my medical condition, I don't wear makeup. Because I had natural beauty in youth, I never wore much makeup. Lip gloss, eyeliner and mascara was all I ever did if I wasn't going to a military ball.
I have no idea how makeup and women's purses relate. Supposedly most women carry makeup to refresh their face while out.
I would need to research that because I feel like that shouldn't require luggage but probably currently does because the entire fashion industry still imagines all women are hookers or wives and defaults to assuming you are at home at your vanity, so makeup isn't designed for the logistics of career women.
