The Naomi Wu Phenomenon

And as women go out into the world to try to earn a living, they run into a lot of issues. 

One issue is that nothing they wear for business is "right." If you try to be attractive, you're a sex object and not taken seriously. If you try to be serious, you aren't socially attractive enough to do business with. 

It's a no win situation. There are no good answers. 

That's actually from a piece largely about my relationship to Naomi Wu, AKA SexyCyborg.

I was hoping to put our one-sided feud behind us where she publicly drags me on Twitter and other people don't understand why I don't drag her back.

It links to the discussion on Hacker News -- an overwhelmingly male forum where I used to participate regularly and was at one time a respected member and unusually "prominent" for a woman -- where Naomi Wu showed up and viciously attacked me without provocation and don't confuse her with the facts.

But I guess haters gonna hate and no amount of me taking the high road has any hope of making her Grinchlike heart grow three sizes. She viciously attacked me and multiple other people sided with her in a fashion that makes me suspect they were buddies of hers and it was a coordinated attack because it was distinctly unusual for my experiences as a regular participant on Hacker News for over a decade.

I briefly -- for a few hours or at most days -- followed Naomi Wu on Twitter where she posts soft porn photos of herself regularly while WALLOWING in the mud and complaining ENDLESSLY about being disrespected and treated like a sex object. I quickly noped out because that's not my cup of tea.

She had her breasts surgically enlarged because she feels there's nothing remarkable about her appearance and she couldn't make herself taller and to emulate her idol, Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton has openly admitted her stage personae isn't what she really looks like and is based on a prostitute she once saw.

Dolly Parton is a singer and actress and female entertainers typically must look good and sell it on sex appeal to break into the industry at all. You can be a distinctive looking "character actor" as a man without looking conventionally attractive but that's much less common for women.

Naomi Wu is in tech, not entertainment. She has said that as a nobody breaking in and a woman in a shoestring budget, she chose to play the sexed up female assistant presenter role for her own tech and this way of presenting tech is normal in China.

She has said she dresses in real life in the outrageous outfits she wears online and goes out like that and it's not a problem there. She's also said she makes money in China using a male name under which to sell her programming services.

So in violation of her own country's laws, she goes online and uses her tech skills to do an end run around various forms of gatekeeping to try to make money online from a Western audience. She wants our money and to dress like her idol Dolly Parton while going straight past "looks like a hooker" and into "soft porn actively shoving her giant artificially enhanced tits in your face and you cannot avoid it if you want to interact with her AT ALL."

And then she BITCHES about how we are mistreating her for suggesting maybe don't look like a WHORE online if you want money from people for your TECH skills. Please note whatever bullshit she's telling you, she gets money for her tech skills in China by lying about her gender and pretending she's male, not by shoving her tits in their face while they somehow RESPECT her deeply as a tech professional for her tech skills.

My only real suggestion for which I was VICIOUSLY dragged is YOU control the camera angle online. We don't. You can wear exactly the same clothes you wear NOW without posting soft porn shots of your cleavage front and center and impossible to avoid on your website, your Patreon, your Twitter account and EVERY single thing you do online.

I'm not straight. Most people wouldn't know that if I didn't TELL them. I'm extremely hetero passing and I'm not looking for a girlfriend and I find it personally offensive for a woman to be trying to jerk my chain sexually and making it impossible to avoid that if you want to have ANYTHING to do with her.

It's the female version of sending some chick dick pics and then acting like she's the problem when she doesn't want to see this shit.

Naomi Wu is vastly more popular than I am and making tons more money and I suspect her income went up after she decided to take some of my advice and start downplaying her tits because at some point I saw her in a video in overalls rather than "I'm trying to evoke child porn and pretend I'm not." wear.

And I'm certain she would never admit it or give me credit for her improved income because she has been nothing but disrespectful and abusive to me.

I don't expect to ever have a clothing line.

Most women seem to be like Naomi Wu to some degree: they want to dress like whores and then complain about being treated like sex objects and not taken seriously at work.

I'm very keenly aware that how you dress doesn't get you RAPED. 

Which is a COMPLETELY different issue from whether or not your appearance at work matters for promotions and pay raises.

Men spend substantial time, money and effort on looking professional. And no one blinks an eye at it while dragging and mocking women for what they spend on clothes.

Probably because "professional" for a man doesn't mean dressing like a WHORE and women don't REALLY have a clothing style equivalent for that.

Because ALL our role models are women selling sex. Either they are entertainers intentionally dressing sexy because sex sells or at best married well wives.

Such as the absolute highest most respected female role model in the US married to the WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL MAN: Our First Lady.

That's an unpaid position -- AKA slave labor -- that you get if your HUSBAND gets elected while no one vets you AT ALL.

Whatever singers and actresses and First Ladies wear, I'm guessing the way to bet is that probably won't get you promoted at your PAID job that hypothetically doesn't involve SEX or sex appeal as what they are paying you for.

And so far I am seeing NO evidence this blog of mine is being promoted and it certainly is not attracting funding, so presumably NO WOMEN on the planet WANT to dress as ANYTHING but WHORES while complaining our lack of progress is all The Men's fault, them sexist pigs and misogynistic bastards!

Us helpless damsels in distress desperately NEED some chivalrous MAN to hold the door open for us to the C suite. Because we couldn't possibly make it on actual merit or brains while covering up the TITS in accordance with business casual dress codes, no.
